2K21 saw the addition of many new franchises to the league, including a midseason management  change with Basketball Team taking over a struggling franchise after Week 5. Basketball Team would go on to right the ship and eventually beat Joey's Boss Team in the NBA Jam Finals to win a Championship in the franchise's inaugural season.
